I may not be able to save the planet, but my recently completed Eco accreditation has helped me realize that I don’t have to push it over the cliff either. I especially like the approach they take at http://www.simplesteps.org. At their site they list hints to fit the time you can devote to making a change. Today’s example: “If you’ve got a minute”, Set your mower as high as it will go and keep grass 3 to 3.5 inches long. Grass will grow healthier, deeper roots and weeds will get less sunlight. I can do that! “If you’ve got a morning” Use a push mower with sharp blades to cut your grass. You’ll save gas, get a workout and your lawn mower will never need to be replaced if you keep it free of rust. I can have Carlos do that! “If you’ve got a month” Plant a native grass lawn -- you’ll save water and won’t need to use as much fertilizer. Carlos is going to be very busy this summer! Simple steps like tuning off lights in empty rooms. This is an approach that can make a difference without breaking the bank or my back. I like that.

The backyard tomatoes are just starting to ripen. Last night a dinner of pasta, olive oil and sliced just-off-the-vine tomatoes was a bit of Italy in my own house. Mmmmm! I’m hoping to someday make the trip to the real thing. Tonight’s dinner included corn-on-the-cob. It’s summer!

If you can put together a down payment and have a reasonable credit score this is a super time to buy. With prices at very attractive levels and sellers willing to work with you, this is could be the best chance for a first time buyer..

I’m building my business on referrals, so please let me know if I can be of help to any family or friends. Thanks! Sheila
